Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche was born 1846 in the Derge region of Tibet. Mipham had a strong connection with Manjushri, as evidenced by his vast learning and grasp of scriptures from all the traditions, including his own Nyingma lineage. Many major teachers, including the contemporary master Jigme Phuntsok, hold Mipham Rinpoche as their guru, even if they never met him. Anam Thubten has translated several of the well-known writings of Mipham Rinpoche into English, such as Wangdu and Shower of Blessings.
